This Sheffield Wednesday target has reportedly landed in the city ahead of a late move to S6.

Sheffield Wednesday look like they could oversee some transfer deals today, with one player potentially arriving at Hillsborough being Duncan McGuire.

The Orlando City and USMNT striker flew to England yesterday to complete a move to Blackburn Rovers.

But after a lot of back and forth, the 22-year-old is now in Sheffield looking to complete a move to Danny Rohl‘s side, it has been claimed.

Journalist and reporter Alan Myers posted on X this afternoon, revealing that McGuire was now in a Sheffield hotel, hoping to seal a move to the Owls.

McGuire would become just Sheffield Wednesday’s third January signing after the loan captures of James Beadle and Ike Ugbo.

Though it’s also said that Sheffield Wednesday could face some late hurdles in their bid to sign McGuire, with the Owls now preferring to do a potential loan deal.

After a move to Blackburn Rovers looked certain, McGuire is now looking poised to complete a move to Sheffield Wednesday, barring any more late twist and turns.

Obviously, time is very much of the essence.

The Owls have to come to some sort of agreement with Orlando City regarding the structure of the deal, but given the fact that Sheffield Wednesday were previously bidding for the striker, it suggests that they have money to spend in the final hours of the January window.

And if Wednesday can get this deal over the line then it’ll be a huge sigh of relief for everyone; for Rohl, the Sheffield Wednesday fans, and for McGuire too.

The exciting striker, who scored 15 goals in all competitions for Orlando in 2023, seems to have had a turbulent 48 hours or so, but he now seems to be waiting on completing a move to South Yorkshire.
