Sheffield Wednesday are opening the exit door to a number of players before deadline day.
The Owls have welcomed ten new additions to the club this summer, many of whom proved to be hugely successful in their Championship opener at the weekend.
Sheffield Wednesday are looking to make further signings this month though and may now have to offload some players to make way for their replacements.
The Yorkshire outfit are yet to sell any players, but now look set to be busy with their departures in the final weeks.
Michael Smith and Mallik Wilks look set to leave, while reports today have claimed that Marvin Johnson is now a target for Oxford United.

Callum Paterson now looks set to leave
It now looks like they could be offloading a fan favourite too, with journalist Joe Crann claiming one player ‘has been given the green light’ to leave.
Crann wrote on X: “Understand that Callum Paterson has been given the green light to find another club by #SWFC after it became clear that his game-time will be limited this season.
“‘Pato’ has become a cult figure at S6 and was huge in the promotion season.”
The utility-man is too costly to barely even make the bench
Paterson has been an important player at Hillsborough since joining the club in 2020, picking up 23 goals and 13 assists in 155 matches.
His minutes were limited last term though, making only 17 starts as he spent four months on the sidelines.
The 29-year-old’s versatility has come in really handy for Wednesday over the years, having played in practically every position apart from in between the sticks.
Paterson would have been a good player to have if any major injures occurred, but with more players still to arrive, it is clear that he may struggle to even earn himself a place on the bench.
The utility-man will be fondly remembered at Hillsborough for the key role he played in their promotion, but with Danny Rohl set to take the club to another level, Paterson is likely to be left behind.
He is also the second highest-earner at Wednesday, raking in around £18,000-per-week.
For a player who may only play in cup competitions or when replacing an injured teammate, it definitely seems worth offloading his hefty wages from the books to bring in more younger, talented additions.
