Sheffield Wednesday are set to part ways with another player in the January window.
Sheffield Wednesday have already sent Tyreeq Bakinson out on loan to Charlton Athletic, while John Buckley’s loan deal was cut short after he picked up an injury.
The Owls have made two of their own signings as well, and the arrival of James Beadle from Brighton & Hove Albion is now set to spark an early exit for one of their loanees.
Italian journalist, Gianluca Di Marzio, has reported that AC Milan are in ‘ongoing discussions’ to bring Devis Vasquez back to the club this month.
Devis Vasquez joined Sheffield Wednesday on loan in the summer and was expected to challenge for the No.1 spot.
The Colombian started his first eight matches in the Championship – conceding 16 goals and keeping one clean sheet.
Xisco Munoz’s sacking was bad news for Vasquez though, with Cameron Dawson brought back into the picture as soon as he left Hillsborough.
Vasquez hasn’t featured in a single match since, and was even left out of the squad completely for the FA Cup third-round victory over Cardiff City. Instead, 18-year-old Pierce Charles took his place on the bench.
James Beadle’s loan move has now forced Vasquez out of the squad all together, with the 19-year-old named as a substitute in the 4-0 hammering by Southampton.
Vasquez’s future at Sheffield Wednesday is looking very bleak, with Di Marzio reporting: “Milan are in ongoing discussions with Sheffield Wednesday to resolve the early the loan of Devis Vasquez, a goalkeeper born in 1998 who has not been used for some time… When he returns to Milan, we will look for new accommodation.”

Devis Vasquez’s exit has been coming for some time, with the goalkeeper just taking up a loan spot that could be used for another signing.
James Beadle is likely to challenge Cameron Dawson for his place in between the sticks, while the AC Milan loanee simply wouldn’t have had a chance to even show his worth in the second half of the campaign.
Danny Rohl clearly trusts Pierce Charles too, with the teenager on the bench in the FA Cup win. Charles could well be the third-choice going forward, though Sheffield Wednesday will surely have to look at a permanent option when Beadle leaves in the summer.
