An emerging Sheffield Wednesday squad update surely means we’ve seen the last of one player in particular.
Sheffield Wednesday return to Championship action on Friday afternoon where they welcome Swansea City to Hillsborough.
The Swans head to South Yorkshire after going into the international break on the back of a 2-0 win over Welsh rivals Cardiff City.
The win left Luke Williams’ side in 15th place of the Championship table and now seven points above the drop zone, and eight above Sheffield Wednesday.
Danny Rohl watched on as his side lost 6-0 at Ipswich Town going into the break.
The Owls have lost their last two but after winning four-straight games before the 2-0 defeat vs Leeds United, they’re now on 38 points, needing one more to potentially pull themselves to safety.

For the game vs Swansea, we could see an old face or two returning to the side.
Both Jeff Hendrick and Lee Gregory have been added to the squad list for the final eight games of the season.
Rohl said in his pre-match press conference:
“Lee Gregory and Jeff Hendrick are back on the squad list. Callum Paterson is still injured and that’s the reason he is not, I have one free space and everybody who is training and can play is on the list.”
A subsequent article from The Star has revealed that the injured Paterson is the most likely name to to take the final place in the Sheffield Wednesday squad between now and the end of the season.
The 29-year-old has missed the entirety of 2024 after undergoing knee surgery but looks set to return in April.
And his return to action and inclusion on the squad list will surely mean the end of Ciaran Brennan’s time at Sheffield Wednesday.

The Star’s article also pointed out that Paterson, Brennan, or even Juan Delgado could be added to the list.
Though Rohl’s comments combined with said article suggest that Paterson will be added to the list, or nobody will be added.
Brennan then, who is out of contract in the summer, finally looks set to leave the Owls in the summer after a tough couple of years.
The Sheffield-born 23-year-old has risen through the ranks at S6 and has 18 first-team appearances to his name.
But injuries and a string of uneventful loan spells means that the former Ireland U19 centre-back has failed to kick on.
What next for Ciaran Brennan
Brennan looks certain to be released in the summer. Then it’ll be a case of getting back fit and finding a new club.
He showed promise during his earlier Sheffield Wednesday career before injuries started to take over, and during a loan spell with Swindon Town last season as well.
But at 23, he’s not gained all that much experience so far, and so the main aim for him will be to play some regular football next year, ideally at National League level or above.
He could still go on to have a promising career, though it certainly seems like his Sheffield Wednesday days are over now, if they weren’t already.
