Sheffield Wednesday predicted lineup, team and injury news as Pol Valentin decision made vs Hull City

Sheffield Wednesday need to get a win on the board this week as they travel to Hull City, and Danny Rohl has some big selection decisions to make for the game.

Last time out, Sheffield Wednesday were unable to make their dominance count as they could only manage a 1-1 draw with Cardiff City at Hillsborough on Saturday afternoon.

Danny Rohl has chopped and changed his Wednesday lineup all season, and seemingly isn’t clear on what his best XI is just yet.

Inconsistency has plagued the Owls this term, particularly in front of goal, and Rohl has challenged his players to try a different approach to goalscoring from here on out. But, who will be chosen to lead the line against Hull City?

Sheffield Wednesday vs Hull City team news with ten out

We know for certain that Sheffield Wednesday will be without Olaf Kobacki and Akin Famewo for the rest of this year.

Aside from that, the Owls have a clean bill of health, with Nathaniel Chalobah the latest player to return from his own fitness issues.

Wednesday’s opponents have a far more worrying injury list, with eight players very likely to be on the sidelines for the encounter on Tuesday.

Both Liam Millar and Bachir Belloumi are out for the whole season. Meanwhile, Steven Alzate, Carl Rushworth, Harvey Cartwright, Marvin Mehlem, Thimothée Lo-Tutala, and Andy Smith are all due back in early December and are highly doubtful to make an early return.

Pol Valentin starts, Ike Ugbo keeps his place

Despite having a near-full squad to pick from, Danny Rohl is likely to go with an almost unchanged lineup from the starting XI he selected against Cardiff. The only change expected is one the fans have been crying out for, which is for Pol Valentin to be given the nod from the start.

Rohl will likely have one more gamble on the partnership of Michael Smith and Ike Ugbo, and will be hoping the latter can finally get off the mark and kickstart his season after a poor run of form.

Sheffield Wednesday's predicted XI vs Hull City

Sheffield Wednesday’s likely lineup for the trip to Hull is: James Beadle; Yan Valery, Di’Shon Bernard, Max Lowe; Pol Valentin, Shea Charles, Barry Bannan, Marvin Johnson; Josh Windass, Michael Smith, Ike Ugbo.

Kick-off is scheduled for 7:45pm on Tuesday, November 26, 2024.
