Sheffield Wednesday have a talented teen on their hands, and he could make his first-team debut a lot sooner than planned.
Sheffield Wednesday are steadily bringing the gap between the youth and senior team, with manager Danny Rohl having made it a priority since his arrival last October.
So far, Rohl has promoted names like Bailey Cadamarteri and Pierce Charles who’ve become first-team regulars, albeit with Cadamarteri currently out on loan.
And Rohl was recently impressed by Gabriel Otegbayo following his solid performance in the Carabao Cup win vs Blackpool earlier this month, in which Sean Fusire featured as well.
Those four could make up the future spine at Sheffield Wednesday under Rohl. And there’s plenty of others making a case to eventually be given a run out with the first-team at Hillsborough.
Fans seem quietly excited and confident about the future of one youngster in particular, who’ll have a very familiar name.

Caelan-Kole Cadamarteri making a splash with Sheffield Wednesday U18s
Caelan-Kole Cadamarteri, younger brother of Bailey, continues to turn heads in the Sheffield Wednesday youth academy.
Despite being just 15 years old, Cadamarteri is playing for the U18s at Middlewood Road and on Tuesday, he got himself on the score-sheet, also grabbing an assist as well.
The striker also represents Scotland at youth level after scoring 56 goals in all competitions during the 2023/24 season.
Despite being just 15, Cadamarteri seems to be steadily working his way up the youth ranks at Sheffield Wednesday and he could well be in Rohl’s thinking for the 2025/26 season.
When could we see Caelan-Kole Cadamarteri in action for Sheffield Wednesday
It’s not unheard of for a player to make a first-team appearance at the age of 15. But it’s often unlikely, and Rohl has always shown patience with younger players, so it looks like Cadamarteri has a way to go yet before he comes into first-team contention.
That said, having been promoted to the U18s, and proving to be a hit at that level, Cadamarteri is certainly on track to fast-track himself into the first-team.
There’ll be FA Cup games at the start of next year which could be a good chance for Rohl to field some of his younger players, should his side be drawn against lower league opposition.
But it feels like likely that we might see Cadamarteri come into first-team thinking next season, should he have an impressive season with the U18s.
