Sky Sports pundit Courtney Sweetman-Kirk thinks Anthony Musaba can keep Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship this season. The winger was instrumental on Sunday as the Owls beat Rotherham United.
Musaba claimed two assists during the win for Wednesday. Michael Smith was the man who grabbed both of the goals during the game and he also came in for some praise during the game.
Wednesday won a game at the 14th time of asking in this season’s Championship. Now, the team knows that they must kick on and start picking up even more points to climb the division.
Sky pundit Sweetman-Kirk raves about Musaba
Sweetman-Kirk previously played for Sheffield United Women. She was very impressed with Musaba on Sunday and she actually believes that if he stays fit, he could keep Wednesday in the Championship.
The Sky pundit said live on Sky Sports Football (30/10; 7:30pm): “He was constantly on the back shoulder, constantly just looking to get a bit of space because we know that he is absolutely electric with the ball. It’s a good ball in behind, they know that, if they play it, he’s going to get there. This time he goes for the shot, that little touch with the right foot, yeah, it could be better, but it’s just showing what he is all about.
“I think Musaba actually went off injured in the end on 70 minutes, hopefully, that’s precautionary because if stays fit and they can keep playing the balls in behind, and he can keep playing balls to Smith and Windass, then I think they will be alright – it’s a long way up, but it’s a good start.”
Musaba now has chance to star at Wednesday
This was a performance that should give the Dutchman a lot of confidence. He gave the Rotherham defence a truly torrid time and he must now showcase this against other teams in the league.
Danny Rohl will be learning a lot about his team every single day. One thing that will be obvious to him after Sunday’s win is that Musaba is a dangerous player at this level and he has to start when he’s fit.
Musaba signed for Wednesday on a free from Monaco in the summer. It was always obvious that he was going to boast talent and now it looks as though he’s ready to showcase it more often at Hillsborough.
