A report has disclosed the contract length of Bailey Cadamarteri’s new deal with Sheffield Wednesday.
Fans were left delighted when the striker put pen to paper on Monday, just two days before he netted his second senior goal for the club.
Bailey Cadamarteri made his Sheffield Wednesday debut in the EFL Trophy last season, but had to wait until Danny Rohl arrived at Hillsborough before he was brought back into the first team picture.
The teenager made his first Championship appearance in the defeat to Millwall, before he was handed his first start in the draw with Leicester City. Cadamarteri has now featured six times in the second tier, scoring twice.
Rohl has praised Cadamarteri and made the club’s intention to tie him down to a new contract very clear, while it didn’t take very long at all for him to get his wish.
The Owls confirmed that Cadamarteri had committed his future to the club earlier this week, though it was unclear how long his new deal was.
However, The Star have now claimed that his fresh terms will keep him at Sheffield Wednesday until 2028 – meaning he agreed a four-and-a-half year deal.
The 18-year-old said he was ‘very pleased’ to commit his future to the Owls and looks very eager to remain at Sheffield Wednesday, no matter what the outcome of the current campaign is.
How important is keeping hold of Bailey Cadamarteri?
Sheffield Wednesday have a long list of players whose contracts will expire next summer, including the likes of Barry Bannan, Dominic Iorfa and Josh Windass.
The Owls could face a tough challenge keeping hold of some of their best players, but it will come as a huge relief that they shouldn’t have to worry about one of their most exciting prospects.
No matter what league they are in next season, Bailey Cadamarteri is likely to play a huge role in the club’s future – especially under Danny Rohl.
The striker has shown huge potential and is clearly already at Championship level, despite only making a handful of senior appearances.
Rohl can’t really rely on his strikers elsewhere, so Cadamarteri has a real opportunity to solidify his place in the team now.
