Sheffield Wednesday have a few players away on international duty this month.
Danny Rohl recently spoke about the number of Sheffield Wednesday players now going on international duty compared to earlier in the season.
It’s a huge credit to him and to the players for their positive form over the past few months.
And a handful of Wednesday players featured on the international stage on Thursday night.
Pierce Charles played 45 minutes for Northern Ireland U21s in their clash vs Czech Republic, Bailey Cadamarteri came off the bench for England U19s vs Morocco, and Di’Shon Bernard played for Jamaica in their CONCACAF Nations League clash vs USA.

The Reggae Boys missed out on a place in the CONCACAF Nations League final after losing 3-1 against the USMNT.
Jamaica took the lead through Oxford United’s Greg Leigh but ended up going to extra time, eventually losing 3-1 against the USA.
Bernard played the full 120 minutes for his nation earning his 12th cap.
And by all accounts, he did very well against tough opposition.
Di’Shon Bernard shines for Jamaica against USA
Di’Shon Bernard played on the right of three centre-backs on Thursday night, often where he plays under Rohl at Sheffield Wednesday.
And he ended the game as one of Jamaica’s highest-rated players with Sofascore giving him a rating of 7.3, making him the Reggae Boys’ second-best player on the night behind Fulham’s Bobby De Cordova-Reid.
Bernard proved to be a rock for Jamaica, dominating the game for defensive actions; per Sofascore, Bernard made 23 defensive actions (11 clearances, 5 tackles, 4 interceptions, and 3 blocks), which was 7 defensive actions more than anyone on the pitch.
The Sheffield Wednesday favourite also had the third-most touches of any Jamaica player (46), completing 16 out of 19 passes (84%) and winning 8 out of 15 duels (second-most for Jamaica).

Sheffield Wednesday must prioritise new deal for Di’Shon Bernard
Bernard showed exactly why he’s so highly-rated at Sheffield Wednesday last night.
He’s a typical Rolls Royce-type defender; he can pass the ball, win aerial and ground duels, and just provide an overall sense of stability at the back.
Bernard is out of contract at Sheffield Wednesday this summer but Rohl is keen to keep hold of the 23-year-old.
And going off performances last last night’s and his overall performances for the Owls this season, it’s easy to see why.
But it seems inevitable that Sheffield Wednesday will need Championship football to tempt Bernard into staying another season.
He’ll surely have Championship suitors if he becomes a free agent, but having really turned a corner with Wednesday and under Rohl, Bernard may be inclined to stay should his side beat the drop this season.
