Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl has revealed conversations with his players regarding their futures at the club.
Sheffield Wednesday are heading towards a very testing summer with several players out of contract.
Those out of contract include Will Vaulks, Di’Shon Bernard, Liam Palmer, Cameron Dawson, Barry Bannan, Josh Windass, Dominic Iorfa, and Lee Gregory.
And according to The Star says that trio Bannan, Windass, and Bernard are ‘among’ the names who Rohl would like to keep at the club beyond this season.

Speaking to The Star, Rohl revealed his conversations with Sheffield Wednesday players, without naming specifically who he’s been in conversation with.
He said:
“I have had some conversations of course. I have had a lot of conversations with my players. Nearly everybody knows what is in my mind and we have now had some conversations with the agents. But we know also it is not easy to make a plan for next season of course. It is our job to prepare the right steps so we can make them when we know exactly where we are.
“This is our situation, we are positive and everybody recognises how we improve players, how we want to play football. This is helpful, to show them the next step and the way to go together. The final decisions will come later in the season, of course.”
Planning ahead could hint at Rohl future
There’s a lot of worry among Sheffield Wednesday fans right now, regarding the future of Rohl.
He’s obviously well-liked and with a good team to pick from, he could really shine in the Championship.
But if the Owls go down then there’s the obvious fear that he goes; even if Sheffield Wednesday stay up, given all the off-field issues at Hillsborough, Rohl could still be tempted to move elsewhere.
But his comments seem to suggest that he has no intention of leaving the club any time soon and that’ll ease a lot of fears among supporters.
And in Bannan, Bernard, and Windass, Rohl has three good players who could certainly be useful in either League One or the Championship next season, with Bernard in particular a player who the Owls could build a team around.
The summer needs to see players leaving the club though and taking some strain off the wage bill. But in turn, Dejphon Chansiri then needs to back Rohl and let him bring in the players he wants, so that he can start to build a team to his liking.
