Sheffield Wednesday star Di’Shon Bernard has suggested that he has a lot of respect for Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna.
The centre-back has been speaking with Manchester Evening News.

Well, it would appear as though the 23-year-old is a big fan of McKenna having worked under him coming through the Manchester United youth ranks.
Both Bernard and McKenna have now departed Old Trafford but it would seem as though the Wednesday defender thinks a lot of the burgeoning young coach.
Wednesday star Bernard came to Hillsborough on a free transfer during the summer. He’s been integral this season and recently the defender raved about Danny Rohl.
During the same interview, he also suggested that he has a lot of respect for McKenna too having worked with him at United.
He told the Manchester Evening News: “My United debut was in Kazhakstan, it was a far trip, very cold but it was a moment that will live with me forever.
“It also made it easier because I think Kieran (McKenna) was the coach at the time as well and he was my youth team coach, so it was nice.”
Bernard can become Wednesday fan favourite
With 33 appearances to his name this season, Bernard is already proving integral to the team under Rohl.
The number 17 is out of contract in the summer but surely there will be another offer forthcoming for the defender.
Regardless of the division Wednesday find themselves in, Bernard will surely be high on the list of players that the Owls would love to keep next season.
It’s quite interesting that Bernard has praised McKenna – with his Ipswich side pipping Wednesday to automatic promotion last season.
He’s really shown his mettle as a coach this season with the Tractor Boys now fighting for promotion to the Premier League.
