Sheffield Wednesday suffered yet another defeat on Wednesday night as they lost 3-0 to Plymouth Argyle.
It was a dismal night for the Owls, who remain winless in the Championship after 13 games following the defeat in Devon.
It was new manager Danny Rohl’s second game as manager of Sheffield Wednesday since taking charge following the sacking of Xisco Munoz. His first was a 1-0 loss away at Watford on Saturday.
Wednesday slammed for ‘incapable’ defending
Journalist for Yorkshire Live, Dom Howson, slammed the Owls’ defending on Wednesday night, particularly on the third goal.
In a post on his X account (formerly known as Twitter), he said: “More rubbish defending. This team looks incapable right now of doing the basics properly. There’s no solid base to build from.
“These are not kids. These are senior players who keep on making elementary errors over and over again. About time they take some accountability.”
Rohl’s job just got a lot harder
Wednesday’s poor start to the season continues, with it now feeling like Rohl has an impossible job in his hands.
This is the 34-year-old’s first job as first team mama ever after previous coaching roles with the likes of the German national team and RB Leipzig, and it is a tough one.
Wednesday look devoid of confidence, as they are sat rock bottom of the Championship table, with only three points to show for their efforts so far this season.
Rohl has a mountain to climb already after two games in charge, as he looks to pick up his players for his first home game as Wednesday manager – a Yorkshire derby with fellow strugglers Rotherham United.
