Sheffield Wednesday striker Bailey Cadamarteri has received praise from his dad after Saturday’s 2-1 win over QPR. The striker notched his third senior goal for the Owls during the Hillsborough victory.
Cadamarteri has burst onto the scene this season for Wednesday. The striker had bagged double figures for the under-21 outfit and when Danny Rohl was appointed, he was handed a promotion.
Last week, the 18-year-old signed a new contract with Wednesday. He’s now tied to a long-term contract at Hillsborough and that should keep Premier League clubs away from the door.
Cadamarteri was watched during Saturday’s win for Wednesday by his dad. Danny played for Bradford and Everton during his career and he was very impressed with a certain aspect of his son’s game at the weekend.

The talented player scored another goal for Wednesday on Saturday and he’s now found the way to goal. For a young player, he’s physically strong and he can clearly handle himself in the Championship.
After he scored for the Owls, his dad shared something with him on X. He was impressed with another aspect of his game away from scoring goals and he was quick to laud his lad.

Cadamarteri has managed to keep Wednesday striker Lee Gregory out of the squad completely. Danny Rohl has a reputation for nurturing young players and clearly, that’s something he wants to bring to his management.
The teenager can benefit from working under the German manager. Things have started to click for him of late and he’s surely going to stick with the young striker moving forward.
Cadamarteri is going to the very top
It’s been hard at times during the 2023/24 campaign for Wednesday fans to stay positive. However, just lately some shoots of recovery have emerged in the way of emerging young talents.
Last week, Sam Reed came in for some praise from Rohl, whilst the form of Anthony Musaba has really caught the eye in recent weeks.
Cadamarteri is a part of a clutch of players now hoping to take their shot at Wednesday. He’s done brilliantly well to earn his opportunity and then start scoring goals quickly.
The Owls still need to score more goals and perhaps an experienced striker will be added in the January transfer window.
That should be to help Cadamarteri rather than hinder him, however. Rohl needs to keep giving the teenager game time and it’s highly exciting to see just how far the youngster can go in the game.
