Whilst it has been a poor season for Sheffield Wednesday, some players have shone, like Di’Shon Bernard.
The central defender joined the Owls in the summer and has shown some positive performances at the heart of Wednesday’s defence.
Now Owls fans will be hoping he can continue his form after the international break.
Jamaican international returns
As confirmed on the club website, Bernard has returned to the club from international duty with Jamaica.
The club also confirmed he has returned fully fit, stating: “Bernard now resumes training with Wednesday and is in contention for new manager Danny Röhl’s bow at Watford on Saturday.”
The 23-year-old played the full 90 minutes in both of The Reggae Boyz victories over Haiti and Grenada, which confirmed their place in the quarter finals of the CONCACAF Nations League. They beat Haiti 3-2 and Grenada 4-1, both away from home.
It will be great to have Bernard back fully fit
Bernard has been one of Wednesday’s best players in what really has been a poor start, where the Owls have failed to win a game in the Championship so far this season.
The Jamaican made the move to Hillsborough in the summer, joining on a free transfer after his contract expired at Manchester United.
He was the only Sheffield Wednesday player to go out on international duty, with the majority of the squad staying.
He had also vowed to the next manager, now Danny Röhl, that the squad will ‘give their all’ for him, which is being backed up so far.
Wednesday fans will be hoping for their first three points when they face Watford on Saturday.
