A Championship team has Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl on their managerial shortlist ahead of the summer.
It’ll come as no surprise to Sheffield Wednesday or their supporters that Rohl, 34, is garnering outside interest ahead of the summer.
It comes ahead of a pivotal run-in for the Owls who remain in 23rd place of the table after a 6-0 defeat vs Ipswich Town last weekend, but with a renewed hope in their fight for survival.
Sheffield Wednesday have won five of their last eight Championship fixtures and now find themselves just one point from safety, compared to eight points last month.
Danny Rohl record at Sheffield Wednesday
Rohl, who is the Football League’s youngest manager, spent time working with Red Bull Leipzig, Bayern Munich, Southampton, and Germany before he took charge of the Owls in October last year.
He’s worked under some top managers and coaches including Hansi Flick at Germany and Bayern and Ralph Hasenhuttl at Southampton.
And Rohl has so far made a name for himself as a manager.
In 30 games as Sheffield Wednesday manager, Rohl now has 12 wins, with three draws and 15 defeats to his name.

Sunderland take interest in Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl
There were reports of Championship interest in Rohl a few weeks back, though no teams were mentioned.
But an emerging report from iNews says that ‘there is interest’ from Sunderland in several managers including Rohl.
It is not known what length or type of contract Rohl is currently on at Hillsborough.
Sunderland currently have Mike Dodds as interim manager until the summer.
Worrying news for Dejphon Chansiri at Sheffield Wednesday
News of interest, again, will come as no surprise. But for owner Dejphon Chansiri it remains very worrying indeed.
Sunderland are a team with good, ambitious owners who will be ready to invest in the team.
They spent well last summer and in January, and this summer they have players like Jack Clarke and Anthony Patterson to cash in on, so there could be a big transfer kitty for whoever comes in.
What’s more is that Sunderland have a very good infrastructure; a good training facility at the Academy of Light, a huge stadium, and a lot of talented players in both the first-team and coming through the youth ranks.
For a lot of managers, it’s a very attractive proposition, Rohl included.
Whether or not Rohl would be interested remains to be seen, but from a career standpoint, he may be foolish to turn Sunderland down to stay at Sheffield Wednesday.
Relegation would surely se him leave, but realistically, how far Rohl can go under the current ownership remains to be seen, if not very far.
