Max Lowe has spoken out about his controversial move from Sheffield United to Sheffield Wednesday.
The defender spent four years at Bramall Lane and helped them win promotion to the Premier League, but managed only ten appearances last season before he was released.
It wasn’t long before Lowe was linked with a move across the city to Hillsborough, before completing the switch last month.
Lowe is now preparing for his first season at Sheffield Wednesday, while he will be forced to face the Blades following their relegation.
The 27-year-old has now reacted to his move to Wednesday and has made a bold prediction ahead of the Steel City derby.

Lowe predicts Steel City derby win
Speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield, he said: “Yeah I knew it would create noise, but once I’d spoken to the lads and especially with the gaffer, it made my decision really easy. There’s no secret how big the rivalry is, but the manager made me aware of what he expects from me. I spoke to Baz [Bannan] and Liam [Palmer] and I felt like it was something I could handle and it was something I wanted to be a part of.
“I want to play at Hillsborough, I’ve seen the atmosphere there and this is what I want to be a part of.”
When asked if he was looking forward to the derby, he said: “Yeah it should be a good one and hopefully we beat them.”
Lowe can use Blades’ abuse to his advantage
Lowe has never played in a Steel City derby and there is no one would have expected it to be for Wednesday if he eventually did.
The full-back will make the return to Bramall Lane in November and will be well prepared for a huge amount of abuse from his former supporters.
Lowe clearly doesn’t feel much pressure though after making the switch in the first place, so Danny Rohl will be hopeful that he can use the abuse to improve his performance and annoy the Blades’ fans even further.
Lowe has made a huge decision in joining the Owls and that surely suggests he is ready to give it his all to get the club to the Premier League, as he will have surely had a number of ‘easier’ options this summer.
