Sheffield Wednesday are poised to sign Charlie McNeill on a free transfer, after his Manchester United release.
Sheffield Wednesday look set to secure another impressive summer signing with striker Charlie McNeill expected to join on a free transfer.
The 20-year-old is being released after graduating through the youth academy, but going on to make just one first-team appearance for the Red Devils.
He could become the seventh summer signing at Hillsborough and one of the many to represent both Manchester United and Sheffield Wednesday at a senior level.
Names like Viv Anderson spring to mind, and going way back, there was former England man Albert Quixall during the 1950s and 60s.
Here we look at the last five players to play for both Sheffield Wednesday and Manchester United…

Di’Shon Bernard
Di’Shon Bernard, like McNeill, left Manchester United last summer after making just one first-team appearance for the club.
He joined Sheffield Wednesday on a one-year deal and featured 32 times in the Championship, showcasing his class as he became a regular with the Jamaica national side too.
He’s now, technically, a free agent, and facing an uncertain future at Sheffield Wednesday.
Reece James
Reece James left Sheffield Wednesday as a free agent earlier this summer and joined South Yorkshire neighbours Rotherham United, along with Cameron Dawson.
Full-back James is another who started his career with Manchester United, and another who left the club after just one first-team appearance.

Kieran Lee
Former Sheffield Wednesday fan favourite Kieran Lee actually made a Premier League appearance for Manchester United, under Sir Alex Ferguson during the 2006/07 season.
He left the club in 2008 with three first-team appearances to his name, then spending four years at Oldham Athletic before joining the Owls in 2012.
Lee made 217 total appearances for the Owls as is seemingly retired now.
Marnick Vermijl
Marnick Vermijl arrived at Manchester United’s youth academy in 2010, leaving Standard Liege in his native Belgium.
He made two first-team appearances for the Red Devils before joining Sheffield Wednesday for an undisclosed fee in February 2015, later joining Preston on loan and making his stay permanent in 2016.
He now plays for Thes in Belgium.

Will Keane
Will Keane spent time on loan at Preston North End with Vermijl, and the pair played for Sheffield Wednesday during the 2014/15 season as well.
On loan from Manchester United, Keane scored three in 13 Championship games for the Owls in the second half of the 2014/15 campaign.
Keane is now a permanent player with Preston.
