Reece James heaped praise on ‘brilliant’ Danny Rohl following his arrival at Sheffield Wednesday.
Speaking to The Star, the defender explained what the Owls boss was already ‘slowly implementing’ into the team.
Reece James enjoyed a successful loan spell with Sheffield Wednesday last season before making his move permanent following promotion.
However, Xisco Munoz didn’t seem to fancy the 30-year-old as he played only eight minutes of football in the first 10 games of the season.
James has been brought back into the picture following Danny Rohl‘s appointment though, starting their last two games as more of an attacking wing-back.
The Manchester United academy graduate has shown his gratitude towards his new manager and has also highlighted the changes Rohl is making at the club.
When asked about his return to the starting line-up, James said: “It’s brilliant, obviously that’s what you want to do – you want to play every week. And with the belief from the manager, who has come in and shown a bit of faith in myself, it’s now about doing as much as I can to reward that.
“You could notice from his first meeting with us that the direction he wanted to go in was clear – the philosophy, too. And you can see it now being slowly implemented within the team. We’re noticing the intensity levels, the running stats, there’s a big difference. Hopefully now we can show results on the back of that hard work.
“The boys are gutted, but at the same time there’s a togetherness, a belief that we are going to get the results that we need. And with where we are in the table at the moment we need that belief, that trust in each other. The gaffer and coaching staff are bringing that to us. Obviously we’ve fallen short with results but performances are looking better and hopefully we can turn the performances into wins.”

Despite being only 34 years old with no managerial experience, Danny Rohl clearly has a lot of confidence and isn’t afraid to make big changes.
The German has already brought Reece James and Marvin Johnson back into the fold, while he has given Djeidi Gassama his first start after being left out by Xisco Munoz.
Rohl seems to be bringing the feel-good factor back to Hillsborough and is creating a much more positive atmosphere – one that should have already been lingering following a surprise promotion.
Rohl has a big project on his hands, especially with Djephon Chansiri still at the helm, but fans are clearly prepared to be patient and wait for him to turn things around.
