Sheffield Wednesday are currently battling ongoing takeover uncertainties and a wave of injury issues.
Henrik Pedersen is trying to the best he can with the resources at his disposal, but with Wednesday on -10 points, relegation from the Championship is pretty much nailed on.
With the EFL taking another six points away from Wednesday this week, the pressure is pretty much off the players now, and the added freedom might actually help the team.
Battling performances came last week against Millwall and Preston, with Wednesday’s young guns fighting desperately on both occasions and getting nothing for their efforts.

Injury update provided on Nathaniel Chalobah
On the opening day of the season, Wednesday almost stunned Leicester, with a Chalobah goal putting the Owls in front against the team that were in the Premier League last season.
However, Leicester came back to win, and for Chalobah, it was the last game he would play for the 2025/26 campaign, with him failing to get onto the pitch since then.
Injuries have largely blighted the career of the midfielder and his time at Hillsborough has been no different, with all sorts of problems coming his way.
Now, according to the Sheffield Star, Chalobah is back on the grass in training and is taking part in passing drills and positioning-based games during the sessions.
Chalobah has bags of experience in the second tier, and indeed, having him back available as an option would be most helpful for Pedersen at the moment.
Chalobah has to prove he can stay fit
Fitness issues have been a concern for Chalobah across his career, and ultimately, he’s been a bit of a waste of signing for Wednesday so far.
Chalobah now has to get himself in a position to play professionally once again, and boy, do Wednesday need his experience right now.
At 30, it’s really time for Chalobah to get going again and try to finish his career with a flourish and help Wednesday play for some pride between now and the end of the season.
The midfield area is one where Wednesday could definitely do with some options and the hope will be that he can get back on the pitch very soon.
