Sheffield Wednesday now have just eight games of their season left.
Should Xisco Munoz have still been in charge, Sheffield Wednesday may have been relegated long ago.
But Danny Rohl has helped the club amass almost 40 points in the Championship this season, with the Owls able to pull themselves to safety with a win against Swansea City on Friday.
In fact, a point could even see them move out of the bottom three depending on other results and goal difference.
The Owls remain in 23rd place of the table but Huddersfield Town in 22nd and Birmingham City in 21st are both on 39 points, with just five points separating Sheffield Wednesday and Millwall up in 16th.

Sheffield Wednesday host Swansea City in the Championship on Friday afternoon.
Then there’s trips to Middlesbrough and QPR before home games against Norwich City and Stoke City, a trip to Blackburn Rovers, a home game vs West Brom, and a trip to Sunderland on the final day of the season.
Friday’s opponents Swansea City sit in 15th place of the table as things stand, so that game at Hillsborough will certainly be viewed as a winnable one.
Other crunch matches come against QPR, Stoke City, and Blackburn Rovers.
Danny Rohl outlines approach for final eight games
Speaking to the club ahead of Friday’s clash vs Swansea City, Rohl outlined his approach to the final eight games of the season.
He said:
“We don’t want to look to the past, I said to my team in the meeting yesterday, we have eight chances now to achieve our goals. The final five weeks are not about doing special things, it’s more about playing to our strengths and getting our basics right. If we do this we have a big, big chance to achieve our goals.”
Sheffield Wednesday have great chance of Championship survival
Although the Owls remain in the bottom three, they have (or at least have had in recent weeks), one thing a lot of teams don’t have right now; momentum.
Disregarding the defeat against Leeds United and then the 6-0 defeat Ipswich Town, Sheffield Wednesday were beating the teams in and around the bottom of the table.
And with a kinder run-in than most, with a lot of games against clubs in the relegation picture, the Owls and Rohl will surely fancy their chances of moving out of the bottom three.
It’d be quite an achievement given the fact that Wednesday have been in the relegation zone for almost the entire season so far.
And with Rohl at the helm and players returning from injury, fans will certainly fancy their chances.
Though it’s still an uphill battlke.
Swansea City on Friday is the first of eight cup finals for the Owls and a poor result here could see the gap to safety reopen.
