Sheffield Wednesday have just days to prepare for their third Championship clash against Leeds United.
The Owls have endured a mixed start so far, battering Plymouth Argyle before losing to Sunderland – becoming the first English team since 2010 to win 4-0 in their opening game and then lose the following match in the same scoreline.
It was a harsh reality check for Sheffield Wednesday, who had held really high hopes for the season after the win over the Pilgrims.
The Yorkshire outfit will now look to return to winning ways later this week, with Sunday’s defeat ending their run of eight competitive games unbeaten.
Leeds United have had a very tough start to the campaign, but have been tipped for automatic promotion and will be another big challenge.

Rohl wants ‘nasty’ against Leeds United
Danny Rohl has reflected on the weekend’s loss and has now explained what he wants from his team ahead of their return to Hillsborough.
Speaking to The Star, Rohl said: “This (the defeat) is also because of our opponent, and we should never forget we always have an opponent who will try good things with good players. They did well today and for us it is still about learning, learning, learning, improve.
“On Tuesday we start to prepare ourselves for Leeds. I want to see a team that is again nasty and able to be competitive with a strong Leeds, we will try it again.”
Which Sheffield Wednesday will we see?
The Whites have picked up two draws in their opening fixtures, while they were also thrashed 3-0 by Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup.
Leeds are in the process of losing a number of their key players and are in a very difficult situation leading into Friday’s clash.
It is arguably the perfect time to play their Yorkshire rivals and having the Hillsborough crowd behind them will spur them on massively.
It feels like their third game could go one of two ways – they learn their lesson after the Sunderland defeat and put on another stellar performance, or they get dominated once again.
Rohl can’t let the second option happen, but if the first does and they can claim a point or even a win, then fans will be able to forget about the weekend’s disaster and class it as a learning curve that arguably needed to happen.
Wednesday’s players and fans will have had plenty of confidence going into the season, but thinking it would all be easy after one win over Plymouth was probably quite naive.
