Danny Rohl has already fixed an ‘important’ issue at Sheffield Wednesday.

That’s according to Jobi McAnuff, who believes the German manager has already helped address the ‘disconnect’ at Hillsborough.

Sheffield Wednesday found themselves bottom of the Championship with only three points when Danny Rohl took charge last month.

The Owls suffered back-to-back defeats on the road following his appointment, however they were able to put on a brilliant performance in their home clash with Rotherham United at the weekend, claiming a 2-0 victory.

While Sheffield Wednesday still have a long way to go as they sit eight points from safety, Jobi McAnuff thinks Rohl is already making positive steps with the Yorkshire outfit.

Speaking on Sky Sports (via YorkshireLive), said: “It was huge after taking this long to get that first win.

“I think everything around the club from the minute they won that play-off final last season has been a disaster.

“The Darren Moore episode, Xisco Munoz coming in and that not working out, the crowd, the chairman. It just felt like a real disconnect at the football club and that’s why it was so important for him (Röhl) to get that first win really early on in his tenure to get the players believing, get the fans believing and get that football club moving because it’s been a real non-start for them so far this season.”

Can Sheffield Wednesday keep this up?

Sheffield Wednesday picked up their first win of the campaign at Hillsborough against Rotherham, however they are yet to crack the code on the road.

The Owls failed to pick up a single point away from home in Rohl’s first two games in charge, while they only previously claimed one draw at Elland Road in September.

The players put on a quality display last time out, however their real test will be to keep it up as they travel to Bristol City next.

The Robins sacked Nigel Pearson two days ago in a rather controversial decision, so it could be the perfect opportunity for the Owls to pick up another win.
