Sheffield Wednesday have picked up yet another injury concern.
Sheffield Wednesday hosted Swansea City in the Championship on Good Friday, eventually settling for a point after an entertaining 1-1 draw at Hillsborough.
Bailey Cadamarteri grabbed his first league goal of 2024 during the first half but the Swans levelled after the break.
And despite numerous Sheffield Wednesday attempts, they couldn’t find a second goal and claim all the points, with Swansea perhaps thankful for the draw in the end.
Di’Shon Bernard withdrawn from Sheffield Wednesday side vs Swansea
Di’Shon Bernard was named in the starting XI for the game vs Swansea City.
The 23-year-old returned from international duty with Jamaica where he helped the Reggae Boys achieved a 3rd place finish in the CONCACAF Nations League.
It comes after a positive season for the former Manchester United youngster following his release from Old Trafford last summer.
He’s become a rock at the back for Danny Rohl‘s side, featuring 20 times in the Championship so far this season, popping up with two assists as well.

Bernard though was withdrawn from the starting XI after picking up an injury in the warm-up of the game vs Swansea City.
Bambo Diaby replaced him in the starting line-up and gave a good account of himself.
Pierce Charles stepped up to the bench in place of Diaby, leaving Rohl with two goalkeepers on the bench.
And speaking to journalist Joe Crann after the game, Rohl gave this injury update on Bernard:
“Hopefully with Di’Shon it was the right point to bring him out, but you never know with muscles… When you’re playing again in two days it could be that he’s out.”
Bambo Diaby can now silence Sheffield Wednesday critics
Diaby has been a divisive player for Sheffield Wednesday.
He joined last summer and has since racked up 28 Championship appearances for the Owls, being a prominent player under Xisco Munoz and then Rohl.
But after a calamitous display in the 4-0 defeat vs Southampton earlier in the year, Diaby was axed from the XI.
His recent role has been as a late substitute in games.
Diaby though started against Leeds due to injuries in the side and started against Swansea, though against the Swans, Diaby looked fairly solid.
Although his stats were fairly unimpressive (1 interception, 2 tackles, and 2 headers won, as per Sofascore), the Spaniard barely misplaced a pass or put his team under unnecessary pressure.
Diaby’s biggest criticism is his clumsiness at the back but against Swansea, he looked fairly assured.
Another huge Championship clash comes up on Monday wit the Owls travelling to Middlesbrough.
It’s a quick turnaround and it may come too quick for Bernard, so Diaby could be entrusted with another start, and he’ll be keen to re-establish his place in the XI after a period of exile.
