Sheffield Wednesday have been dealt another cruel injury blow.
Sheffield Wednesday have one of the biggest first-team squads in the Championship this season, with nearly 30 players on their books.
Not all of them have been registered however, and some have picked up injuries; the likes of Momo Diaby spent a long time on the sidelines, whilst Dominic Iorfa looks like he could miss the rest of the season along with Juan Delgado.
And Danny Rohl has now revealed that Josh Windass faces an extended period on the sidelines, with the striker missing from the last two games.

Sheffield Wednesday headed to Coventry City for an FA Cup fourth round replay last night.
The Owls lost the game 4-1 with Rohl making nine changes to the side that lost to Huddersfield Town last weekend, as he keeps an eye on a crucial upcoming Championship clash vs Birmingham City on Friday.
And after the game, Rohl confirmed the news regarding Windass, telling The Star:
“Josh will be really difficult for the next weeks. Really, really difficult. This is the situation, it’s hard to take, we will miss him for some games. They come fast, next week is another week that is Friday, Tuesday, Saturday. It means just one week out is three games gone.
“With Josh it is always difficult. You have to look from game to game, from week to week, from day to day. At the moment it doesn’t look great.”
Time for someone to step up at Sheffield Wednesday
On a few occasions this season, we’ve seen Rohl play with two strikers or with a striker as a no.10; as he often did with Windass.
And now with Windass out it’ll give someone new a chance to come into the XI and stake their claim.
Last night it was Ashley Fletcher who came in as well as Bailey Cadamarteri who got on the scoresheet, though Ike Ugbo has looked sharp in his first few performances so expect him to start against Birmingham City on Friday.
Cadamarteri may well come into starting contention once again after getting back to scoring ways, but he seems better suited to be the no.9 and so it might mean Ugbo plays as a 10, or Rohl once again experiments with two strikers which has yet to prevail.
Windass’ injury is certainly a blow, though; he brings quality and experience to a side that is certainly lacking quality this season, and with his contract out in the summer, we may not see all too much of Windass in a Sheffield Wednesday shirt ever again.
