Sheffield Wednesday will be watched by a ‘special visitor’ for their game against Plymouth Argyle in the Championship on Tuesday night.
Sheffield Wednesday return to Hillsborough on Tuesday evening to face another relegation rival in Plymouth Argyle.
The Owls currently sit in 23rd place of the table but have won their last three league fixtures now, beating Rotherham United 1-0 in their last game.
Plymouth meanwhile are in 16th but just five points ahead of Wednesday who are three from safety; the Green Army have won just one of their last six in the Championship.
Sheffield Wednesday fans will be hoping to see their team’s fine vein of form continue tonight, and they’ll be watched on by Danny Rohl‘s old mentor Hansi Flick.
Hansi Flick to attend Sheffield Wednesday vs Plymouth Argyle
German coach Flick is set to be at Hillsborough tonight, says journalist Rob Staton, who posted on X:
Rohl worked with Flick at Bayern Munich and then the German national team.
A former Bayern Munich player, Flick left his role with the German national side last year after more than two years in charge, overseeing 25 games and winning 12 (48% win rate).
Flick made his name in the dugout with Bayern though, where in two years he oversaw 86 games and won a staggering 70 of them (81.40% win rate), winning two Bundesliga titles to add to the four he won as a player, also lifting the Champions League in 2020, as well as the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup in the same year.
A chance for Danny Rohl to shine in front of his old mentor
Rohl has certainly showcased a lot of quality and potential in his short time in the dugout.
He’s now won 11 of his 27 games in charge of Sheffield Wednesday (40.74% win rate), completely transforming the club’s fortunes this season after the winless start under former boss Xisco Munoz.
And going into this game on the back of four wins in the last five, sitting 3rd in the Championship form table for the last five games, Rohl will be confident of putting on a good display for his old mentor Flick.

Plymouth are a good team to play right now; they’re in poor form and have been poor on the road all season, sitting in 22nd place of the overall away form table having claimed just 12 points on the road.
So for Sheffield Wednesday, it’d another crucial chance to get some points on the board in their fight for survival, which is being made more tricky by the fact that teams like Millwall and QPR are also putting points on the board of late.
Sheffield Wednesday vs Plymouth Argyle kicks off at 7:45pm on Tuesday evening.
