Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl says Dominic Iorfa could make his return to action against Bristol City tomorrow.
It takes another name off the Owls’ injury list, which includes names like Juan Delgado, Cameron Dawson, Josh Windass, and Akin Famewo.
Another Sheffield Wednesday player currently missing is Bailey Cadamarteri; the 18-year-old was missing from the 2-0 win vs Millwall with what was thought to be a minor injury.
Danny Rohl says Bailey Cadamarteri could return vs Bristol City
Speaking to The Star ahead of tomorrow’s game against Bristol City at Hillsborough, Rohl said on Cadamarteri’s potential return:
“Bailey we will look. It could be that he is available again but we will see in the next training how things look.”
Since making his Championship debut for the Owls earlier in the season, Cadamarteri has gone on to feature 17 times in the league, scoring three goals with four in all competitions.
The Owls academy man has been sharing the no.9 role with new goal-hero Ike Ugbo, who’s now scored three in six Championship outings for Sheffield Wednesday.
Cadamarteri return is huge boost for Sheffield Wednesday
When Cadamarteri wasn’t listed in the side that beat Millwall last weekend, many were fearing the worst.
But thankfully it seems like just a minor injury for the teen who’s become a hugely popular and important member of the first-team since debuting last year.
And over the past few weeks, it seems like Rohl is trying Cadamarteri out in a few different roles; he’s been used more as a target man than a poacher-type striker, also playing with a partner in Ugbo.
At such a young age, Cadamarteri himself might not know his best role in attack. But in Rohl, he has a very good coach to help and guide him in these formative years of his career.
And despite his youth, Cadamarteri has shown this season that he’s ready to make an impact in the first-team and when he returns, it’ll be a huge boost to the Owls’ survival hopes.
He’s a natural goal-scorer and goals is exactly what Sheffield Wednesday need to stay in the Championship, so having a fit and firing Cadamarteri is obviously crucial for Rohl.
Kick off vs Bristol City is at 3pm tomorrow afternoon; a win could lift the Owls to within one point of safety depending on Millwall’s result away at Southampton.
