Anthony Musaba has hailed Danny Rohl and the Sheffield Wednesday coaching staff.
Speaking to The Star, the forward has admitted that the changes made by the German is ‘fitting’ him well.
Anthony Musaba joined Sheffield Wednesday from Monaco in the summer and had been one of the team’s few shining lights during a dreary start to life back in the Championship.
The Dutchman has started every game under Danny Rohl and picked up his first two assists of the season in the Owls’ only win against Rotherham United last month.
Musaba appears to be really benefitting from a new cohort of coaches and has said praised the changes they have made to help him over the last month or so.
He told The Star: “With the ball I have now a lot of freedom, which is nice for a player like me. At first (in England) I thought I would be used as a player who would only go round the side but with the new coach, he has let me play in between and go inside or outside.
“It is fitting me will. It is really nice that he sees something in me that can offer something different in a better position. With the pressing we have done several days, a lot of tactics and a lot of pressing. We know if we can get it right, we can hurt the defence. If we win balls we can score. It is a good thing, lot’s of tactical things but it’s going in a good way.
“At first I was a little bit tripping with it, but now it is becoming a bit more automatic, it’s more natural. But the coaches are helping me know when to go. I know how to do it now, so it’s cool.”
Are Danny Rohl’s changes finally starting to show?
Danny Rohl will be eager to bring a new attacking dimension to Hillsborough, with Sheffield Wednesday still claiming the least goals scored in the Championship this season (7).
Anthony Musaba has looked like an attacking threat on many occasions but has been unable to make the key differences needed to get goals, however Rohl’s arrival seems to be having a very positive impact on his ability towards the top of the pitch.
Musaba admitted that it has taken time for these changes to feel more ‘natural’, and that is a very promising sign that things are slowly beginning to piece together for the 34-year-old manager.
Hopefully we can see some noticeable changes when the Owls face Birmingham City this weekend.
