The Owls slipped to another defeat under Danny Rohl as they missed a host of good chances.
Wednesday are now 10 points adrift of safety at the bottom of the Championship and desperately need some results.

Vaulks stars for Wednesday during defeat
The man signed from Rotherham United was instrumental as the club won promotion to the Championship.
It doesn’t seem five minutes since he took the net off with a screamer at Wembley, only to see the goal ruled out for offside.
The 30-year-old will have relished another crack at the second tier but it’s been a frustrating season so far.
On Saturday, Vaulks was in fine form for Wednesday despite their defeat at Birmingham.
According to Sofa Score, the midfielder had 79 touches and that was the most of any other player on the afternoon.
Vaulks was also impressive throughout for Wednesday. He won four tackles, made two interceptions and completed two key passes.
Furthermore, the player earned some praise from two media outlets after the defeat.
The Star said he had been ‘effective’ during the game, whilst Yorkshire Live claimed he ‘added bite’ to the Wednesday engine room.
Vaulks can become integral
The experienced performer has a big role to play at Wednesday and he deserves more game time.
Wednesday star Vaulks is an experienced figure and with lots of young players in Danny Rohl’s squad, he could be important.
This performance will have taught Rohl a lot about the Wales international.
He’s had to wait patiently for a chance to star and now he will be keen to maintain his place in the starting eleven.
Rohl needs as many leaders as he can possibly get in Wednesday’s current plight.
