Sheffield Wednesday travel to Southampton in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
Sheffield Wednesday return to action away at Southampton tomorrow.
The Owls go up against a Saints side in what is the reverse fixture of the opening game of the 2023/24 Championship campaign.
Russell Martin’s side won that one 2-1 against Xisco Munoz‘s Wednesday, though this new Owls outfit under Danny Rohl is a much-improved one.
And we could see some new faces involved this weekend with James Beadle and Ike Ugbo having both signed on loan for the Owls this month.
Sheffield Wednesday team news for Southampton
As per The Star, Rohl will be without midfielders George Byers, Jeff Hendrick, and Will Vaulks for tomorrow’s game.
Callum Paterson remains sidelined through concussion protocols whilst Juan Delgado and Dominic Iorfa remain longer-term absentees for the Owls.
Bambo Diaby is available after serving a three-game suspension, with Beadle and Ugbo potentially in line to make their debuts

How will Danny Rohl line up tomorrow afternoon?
The big debate for this one is whether or not teenager Beadle starts straight away, or if Rohl sticks with the 28-year-old Cameron Dawson.
He clearly seems to have been brought in to compliment Wednesday’s new passing style of play and so not starting him seems somewhat pointless; Rohl may opt to start him on the bench initially, especially against a strong Southampton outfit, though Beadle certainly seems to have a chance of starting tomorrow.
Elsewhere, expect Diaby to come back into the XI alongside Di’Shon Bernard at centre-back, and with Vaulks, Byers, and Hendrick all out, we could see another makeshift midfield with Liam Palmer partnering Barry Bannan.
Expect Ugbo to start on the bench, with an unchanged attacking line up from the win against Hull City.
Here’s how we think Sheffield Wednesday will line up tomorrow…
