Sheffield Wednesday host Cardiff City in their final home game of 2023 this weekend.
Sheffield Wednesday welcome Welsh outfit Cardiff City to Hillsborough tomorrow afternoon, capping an eventful 2023 at their home ground.
Danny Rohl‘s side still have games against Coventry City and Preston North End before the end of the year, but tomorrow they’ll look for a third-straight home win in the Championship for the first time since February 2021.
The Bluebirds currently sit in 12th compared to Wednesday in 23rd, and six points adrift.
Erol Bulut’s side have enjoyed a surprisingly strong season so far but have now lost four of their last five, compared to the Owls who’ve won three of their last four.
Sheffield Wednesday team news ahead of Cardiff
Rohl said in his pre-match press conference that Callum Paterson and Bambo Diaby are fine to feature tomorrow after both were forced off in the last outing vs QPR.
But with regards to striker Josh Windass and Michael Smith, Rohl suggested that both are 50/50 to play in tomorrow’s game.
Momo Diaby and Juan Delgado remain sidelined for this one, as well as John Buckley who’s recently undergone surgery.

How will Dany Rohl line up tomorrow?
The last performance against QPR wasn’t the best we’ve seen in recent weeks.
But the Owls obviously got the job done in the end and so it’s hard to see Rohl making too many changes.
Whether or not Paterson and Diaby are fit enough to start remains to be seen, but with both being key players, if they are fit enough for the XI, they should be in it.
Elsewhere, expect Bailey Cadamarteri to continue up front, amid praise from captain Barry Bannan who’s labelled the 18-year-old as ‘brilliant’, with Anthony Musaba on the right of midfield.
Rohl changed the midfield shape slightly last time out, dropping George Byers for Marvin Johnson, but after a weaker attacking performance, we could see Rohl revert to a midfield three; that could mean Byers coming back in for 33-year-old Johnson.
