Sheffield Wednesday fans have taken to social media to back two players for a big 2024/25 season after their displays against Werder Bremen.
Danny Rohl saved Sheffield Wednesday from relegation in 2023/24, securing the Owls’ survival on the final day.
In a bid to avoid similar struggles in the 2024/25 Championship season, owner Dejphon Chansiri has backed Rohl heavily in the transfer market.
Nine first-team players have already been brought to Hillsborough so far this summer.
Rohl was given his first glimpse of his new additions on July 6th when the Yorkshire outfit beat Alfreton Town 2-0.
The Owls then travelled to Germany to take part in their second training camp of the summer, before travelling to Austria for a meeting with Pep Lijnders’ RB Salzburg.
Sheffield Wednesday were beaten 4-0 by RB Salzburg on July 20th, and will have been hoping for a better display on Friday when they travelled to the Parkstadion Stadium for a meeting with SV Werder Bremen.
Werder Bremen finished just outside the European places in the Bundesliga last term, so Rohl was likely expecting another tough test.

To Wednesday’s credit, though, they more than held their own against the German outfit.
The game was split into four 30-minute quarters, with Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 down after the first two.
However, goals from Anthony Musaba and Djeidi Gassama saw Rohl’s men clinch a 2-2 draw in Germany.
Many Sheffield Wednesday fans took to X/Twitter during and after the game to share their prediction for the two goalscorers ahead of the 2024/25 season.
One fan wrote: “Absolute limbs getting an equaliser against a decent Bundesliga side. Musaba and Gassama cooking up ahead of this next season!”
“Gassama and Musaba are going to COOK this year I feel it,” another wrote. While one said: “Musaba and Gassama already cooking and the season hasn’t even started.”
The praise continued for the attacking duo: “Confident Musaba is a top 5 player in the league idc. Going to be a big season for him and Gas,” one fan tweeted.
“Wow Musaba and Gassama danger next season,” another said at the conclusion of the game.
Some fans even went as far as to back the duo to win the Ballon d’Or in 2024. “Musaba and Gassama Ballon d’Or,” a fan tweeted.
Another added: “Gassama and Musaba are going to be huge players for us this year, had a solid season last season! Now get to the next level! Gassama especially at only 20!”
Can Anthony Musaba and Djeidi Gassama become consistent performers for Sheffield Wednesday
With Musaba 23 and Gassama still only 20, the future of Sheffield Wednesday’s attack looks bright.
However, neither player was able to show consistent form during the previous campaign.
Musaba finished the season as the Owls’ top scorer with seven league goals and Gassama was a standout performer against QPR in April – and on a few more occasions throughout the season.
However, both Musaba and Gassama still need to improve if they are to help Sheffield Wednesday avoid another relegation battle in 2024/25.
