Sheffield Wednesday drew 1-1 at home to Coventry City in the FA Cup fourth round this evening.
Sheffield Wednesday welcomed Coventry City to Hillsborough once gain tonight, this time in the FA Cup fourth round.
The two met in the Championship last weekend and it was Coventry who won that one, and it was almost the Sky Blues who won again tonight.
The Owls looked steady in the first half but couldn’t do anything with all their possession.
Danny Rohl‘s side were then made to pay the price after Coventry City’s Victor Torp found the top corner from range, and the second half offered very little.
Sheffield Wednesday exploited the flanks a bit more and eventually found an equalising goal with Djeidi Gassama hitting one off the inside of the post.

Pierce Charles is one for the future
Another Wednesday academy graduate was in action tonight; Northern Ireland youth international Pierce Charles.
He started in goal after an injury to Cameron Dawson and he looked calm and composed, playing the ball around nicely and doing what was required.
He couldn’t do a thing for the opening goal of the game and Rohl may have liked to have seen him tested a bit more.
But it was a composed debut for Charles who made a huge save in second half injury time, and who could well be in the thinking for the starting spot next season.
The Bailey Cadamarteri conundrum
Bailey Cadamarteri started up top alongside Ike Ugbo tonight.
At times it looked like Cadamarteri was playing as a no.10 and then at other times it seemed like Ugbo was the no.10, but for large parts of the game, Cadamarteri was silent.
Ugbo showed a few glimpses of a decent player but Cadamarteri was a passenger for much of the game.
It leaves Rohl with a bit of a conundrum; what actually is Cadamarteri’s best role in the side?
He’s played better when playing as a lone striker but often in games when Sheffield Wednesday play with one striker, that striker is marked out of games.
A tricky one for the Owls to get around, this.
Sheffield Wednesday lacking aerial prowess
Tonight’s game highlighted a lack of aerial prowess in the Sheffield Wednesday XI.
Maybe it’s because Bambo Diaby isn’t in starting contention at the minute, but whenever there was a set-piece or a goal kick, Sheffield Wednesday looked like they were lacking.
They have players in the side capable of winning aerial duels like Di’Shon Bernard and Akin Famewo, and Momo Diaby, but none who stand out as being aerially dominant players.
In Wednesday’s league position, they could well do with a player or two who can nick headed goals from set-pieces.
