Sheffield Wednesday have only a matter of weeks before the transfer window opens and they are able to bolster their ranks for another season in the Championship.
It’s still unclear how many of their out-of-contract players will be putting pen to paper on new deals, but they will certainly need to add some more squad depth and quality to the team.
Confirmation of Danny Rohl’s new contract now means that the head coach can concentrate on planning for the transfer window, while Dejphon Chansiri is likely to have promised to open his wallet to keep him at the club.
Rohl’s new deal is likely to persuade a number of players to stay at Hillsborough, while journalist Joe Crann believes it has also given them a ‘better chance’ at signing a ‘vital’ trio.

Writing for The Star, Crann said: “By committing his future to Hillsborough, he [Rohl] could well have tipped over the vital first domino.
“Wednesday stand a better chance of keeping those they’ve offered new deals to with Danny at the wheel, they stand a better chance of bringing back those loan players that were so vital to their great escape, they stand a better chance of attracting the sort of players that can achieve the top ten finish that he’s already spoken into the universe.
“Now we wait for the next dominos to fall.”
How likely are Poveda, Ugbo and Beadle to return?
Ian Poveda is surely the player most likely to be tempted by Danny Rohl’s presence, after finding himself as a free agent this summer.
It is completely up to the Colombian where he ends up amid interest from various clubs, so if he knows that the German is still at Wednesday, then he is so surely a lot more likely to return.
Brighton could also be tempted to send Beadle back given how successful the goalkeeper was under Rohl, however that still could come down to their own goalkeeper situation.
Arsenal have been linked with Jason Steele and Carl Rushworth’s future remains uncertain, so it is still unclear whether Beadle will stay at Brighton beyond the summer.
As for Ike Ugbo, he could well be tempted to reunite with Rohl, but the main issue will be meeting his price tag if Troyes decide to sell him.
The Canadian is valued at around £2.4 million, but the French club could look to take advantage of interest and bump up the price.
