We’re only a few days into the January transfer window, but already the Sheffield Wednesday rumours are coming thick and fast.

Tyreeq Bakinson nearing Charlton Athletic loan move
The first Sheffield Wednesday transfer of the Rohl era looks set to be a player exit, with Tyreeq Bakinson reportedly nearing a move to League on side Charlton Athletic.
It was previously said that the 25-year-old was in talks to join Standard Liege in Belgium but the latest suggestions are that Bakinson, who is out of contract in the summer, is nearing a loan move to The Valley.

And the first potential arrival of the Rohl era could be Isaac Hayden.
Sheffield Wednesday were linked with the midfielder in the summer transfer window but he opted for a loan move from Newcastle United to Standard Liege instead.
But recent reports have revealed that Sheffield Wednesday are vying with a number of Championship sides for his signature this month.
Danny Rohl keen to utilise contacts this month
The Owls look set to scour some European markets in the summer with Rohl recently revealing that he’s been in contact with some of his old clubs; the likes of Bayern Munich and Red Bull Leipzig.
Rohl told The Star:
“You are always looking and talking to some people. It’s not just our former clubs, it’s also about the Bundesliga, the second division.
“We are always looking at what we can do, what we can’t do, where it is helpful to have the conversation and get the feedback of what makes sense, what makes no sense. Sometimes it is about getting information about some players, their style, character, mentality, all of these things. We are always collecting information.”
The wheels look to be turning for Sheffield Wednesday who definitely need to be busy this month.
And with a Head of Recruitment now in place, the Owls’ winter window looks set to be more planned and calculated than their summer one, with planning going beyond this season.
