Sheffield Wednesday are hoping to beat rival Championship clubs to the signing of goalkeeper James Beadle.

Wednesday hopeful of signing James Beadle this month
Well, it would appear that Wednesday are keen to sign the goalkeeper who is currently on loan at Oxford from Brighton.
At present, the player is on a deal until the end of the season with the League One outfit but things could change this month.
The Star claims that Brighton are considering recalling Beadle this month, with Wednesday confident they can beat other second-tier clubs to his signature.
Beadle has made 25 appearances for Oxford this season but he wasn’t in the matchday squad yesterday as they lost 6-2 to Coventry in the FA Cup.
Now, Wednesday will hope that yesterday’s decision made by Oxford is positive news in terms of the Owls being able to land a January target.
Who is James Beadle?
Beadle is a London-born goalkeeper who has played in several youth teams in the England setup.
He enjoyed a loan with Crewe in 2023 and this season he was sent to Oxford to continue learning his craft.
Oxford captain Cameron Brannagan has called the goalkeeper a ‘great kid’ after some fine performances between the posts for them this season.
Interestingly Wednesday might have an ace up their sleeve when it comes to signing Beadle this month.
Sal Bibbo, the goalkeeper coach at Hillsborough these days worked with Beadle when he was working at Brighton and that could be telling in the race to sign the youngster.
Wednesday currently have Cameron Dawson and Devis Vasquez vying for the gloves but perhaps Danny Rohl fancies adding another stopper to his ranks.
