Sheffield Wednesday look set to miss out on the signing of striker Myles Peart-Harris, with Portsmouth edging closer to a deal.
This is according to journalist Neil Allen.
So, what is the situation with Peart-Harris and how close were Wednesday to signing him? Let’s take a closer look…
Portsmouth to beat Sheffield Wednesday to Myles Peart-Harris signing
Well, it would appear that if Wednesday are keen to sign another striker they’re going to have to go back to the drawing board.
According to Neil Allen of The News, Portsmouth are now closing in on the signing of Peart-Harris from Brentford.
Peart-Harris has made three substitute appearances in the Premier League this season but he needs more frequent game time.
The 21-year-old spent last season on loan with Forest Green and made 47 appearances, registering 10 goal contributions.

Wednesday had been considering a move for the striker in the aftermath of signing Ike Ugbo who made his debut on Saturday.
Peart-Harris has previously been on the books with Chelsea and now, Brentford are considering a sale with the player having a contract until 2025.
Wednesday would still welcome striker signing
Ugbo will certainly provide competition but it’s fair to say a little bit more of a stellar signing would be very welcomed.
Michael Smith and Lee Gregory will likely be offloaded this month and that will leave Wednesday extremely short in attack.
Peart-Harris is perhaps not the answer also, however, and it might not be the worst deal in the world to miss out on.
The player is extremely raw and throwing him into a relegation dog-fight in the Championship could be daunting for the youngster.
Danny Rohl will want further reinforcements as he looks to reshape his squad and signing a striker does look like a necessity.
Peart-Harris, however, might be one name that needs scrubbing off the list, with Portsmouth looking set to win the race.
Wednesday were beaten by Coventry at the weekend and it seems quite clear that another signing or two wouldn’t go amiss this month.
