This Sheffield Wednesday favourite is subject of interest from one of the Owls’ league rivals, according to emerging reports.
Sheffield Wednesday have had a number of players attract transfer interest so far this month.
Names like Josh Windass and Liam Palmer have both been linked with MLS moves, whilst strikers Michael Smith and Lee Gregory look as though they could drop further down the Football League this month.
But Marvin Johnson is the latest name being linked with a move away from Hillsborough, and it looks like he could make a surprising move up the Football League pyramid.

The Star say that Johnson, 33, has ‘firm interest’ from 2nd place Ipswich Town, who were loosely linked with a move for the wing-back last summer.
The same report adds that Johnson ‘is the subject of contact’ between Wednesday and Ipswich, but that it ‘remains to be seen what the nature of Ipswich’s bid is or whether Wednesday will look to move Johnson on’.
Johnson started the season in the doldrums after Xisco Munoz needlessly exiled him from the first-team.
The well-liked left-sided player was even training alone in Dubai before Danny Rohl arrived at the club and reinstated Johnson into the first-team; since then, Johnson has scored three and assisted two more in 13 Championship outings, with Rohl describing Johnson as ‘quality’.
Johnson should repay faith in Danny Rohl, but Ipswich Town enticing
One would hope that Johnson would repay the faith that Rohl has shown in him this season, and avoid any kind of transfer exit this month.
But few could blame Johnson if he left for title-challenging Ipswich Town.
They could give him a crack at the Premier League; a league which Johnson has never played in before, and at 33 years old, Johnson may think that a move to Ipswich could be his final ever chance at playing in the English top flight.
It would be an unexpected outcome for the wing-back who’s had a lot of ups and downs in the past 12 months.
But he’s shown undoubted quality since coming back into the side and despite his age, it’s no surprise to see a team like Ipswich showing an interest.
He signed a new contract ahead of this season but the length of which was not disclosed.
That could well play a factor in Wednesday’s decision to let Johnson go or not, and fans will surely be keeping a close eye on how this situation unfolds.
