Sheffield Wednesday have already offloaded George Byers today. But one of his in demand teammates looks set to stay.
Sheffield Wednesday look as though they’ve said their goodbyes to Byers, after the 27-year-old sealed a loan move to League One hopefuls Blackpool ahead of his contract expiry this summer.
And he might not be the only Hillsborough departee before 11pm tonight; Will Vaulks is another being linked with a move away, and Lee Gregory too.
But the latter now looks set to stay with journalist Alex Miller revealing that the Owls are demanding that a high percentage of his wages be paid, after Derby County pushed for a late deal.
As per Salary Sport, Gregory earned £12,000-a-week at Sheffield Wednesday, with his contract set to expire in the summer.

Wednesday and Danny Rohl don’t look set to utilise Gregory in the final months of this season, hence why he’s been made available to leave the club.
He’s featured just 13 times in the Championship this season and has played in just one of the last 18 for the Owls.
But he showed in two seasons in League One that he’s still a prolific striker, scoring 28 league goals across the two seasons, so he’d be a coup for Derby County and any other team in the league.
But Wednesday seem to be paying hardball here, and it’s going to leave Gregory in the doldrums until the summer when he becomes a free agent.
He could’ve enjoyed a prolific second half of the season and set himself up for a big, perhaps final career move ahead of next season, but that’s going to be hard now as he’ll be wasted at Sheffield Wednesday.
