Garry Monk has insisted that Morgan Fox’s contract will be taken care of, following reports the Sheffield Wednesday left-back is a target for West Bromwich Albion, Nottingham Forest and Derby County, among others.
Teamtalk claimed earlier in the week that the Owls could be set to lose Fox in January, with West Brom, Nottingham Forest, Derby, Blackburn and Huddersfield all hot on his trail.
The Welshman’s deal expires at the end of the campaign and Wednesday risk losing him for nothing if an agreement cannot be reached by then.
But speaking via the official Sheffield Wednesday Facebook page on Friday, Monk expressed little concern over Fox’s future.
“Morgan’s been fantastic,” said the Owls boss, who brought Fox into his starting eleven shortly after his appointment in September. “All I can say on that side of it is all those things will be taken care of. I’ve got no doubt about that.
“I’ve spoken to the club. When we all get to sit and go through that together, which should be into next week, with all the people that need to be sat down in that process, then we’ll do that.”

Fox has featured in impressive Wednesday displays against West Brom, Nottingham Forest and Derby within the past month.
However, it should be noted that neither West Brom (who employ Kieran Gibbs, Connor Townsend and Nathan Ferguson in Fox’s position), Forest (Yuri Ribeiro and Jack Robinson) nor Derby (Scott Malone, Graeme Shinnie, Max Lowe and Ikechi Anya) are currently short of alternative options.
