Report: Bayern Munich to offer £1.5m Wednesday target VIP tour of facilities

A player in whom Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly interested is set to be offered a VIP tour of Bayern Munich’s facilities, according to The Daily Mail.

BBC Sport has listed Wednesday among the clubs keen on Aaron Hickey, after the left-back entered the final year of his Hearts contract.

But Bayern, it seems, are ready to make their play.

As well as Wednesday, the German side are said to face competition from Aston Villa, Celtic and Bologna in the pursuit of Hickey’s signature.

Hearts value Hickey at £1.5 million, according to BBC Sport – a figure it claims Bologna would match.

And the broadcaster adds that Hickey is impressed by what the Italians have to offer, but is also keen to find out more from Bayern – a wish that could soon come true.

Sheffield Wednesday could be in the market for a left-back after Morgan Fox’s exit, although they do have Matt Penney back from a loan spell at St Pauli.

But bringing Hickey to Hillsborough looks a long shot given the level of rival interest and Wednesday’s recently-imposed 12-point deduction, effective from the start of next season.
