Sheffield Wednesday face Swansea City in the Championship this weekend, in what is another crucial match for Xisco Munoz’ side.
Sheffield Wednesday hosted and drew with Middlesbrough in midweek. It was a crunch match for both sides, with both having started the season poorly, and this game at Swansea is another important one.
Swansea also remain without a win this season, having put just three points on the board. Michael Duff left Barnsley for Swansea at the end of last season but is quickly coming under criticism from the Swans faithful.
Munoz is another man under the spotlight. He’s not been dealt an easy task at Wednesday, but his team selection and substitutions are often coming under scrutiny from Owls fans.
But he has a chance to make amends this weekend with a win bound to give the players and fans some belief for the rest of the season.
And one player who could make a difference on Saturday – as he did on Tuesday night v Middlesbrough – is Anthony Musaba.
Musaba – a man who simply has to start v Swansea?
Musaba changed the game on Tuesday. He scored the only goal of the game for Wednesday, with his energy and work-rate in attack really helping to keep Boro from building much momentum.
He made three tackles in the game which is more than anyone in the Wednesday side managed on the night, using his pace and energy to really press Boro back.
He’s now Wednesday’s top scorer this season with two goals in seven outings in all competitions, having had only four shots on goal; a 50% shot conversion rate which is twice as much as any other player in the side.
It seems like Munoz is easing Musaba into the Championship but now it seems like he’s ready to be thrown in at the deep end, and Josh Windass’ potential absence this weekend gives Munoz cause to give Musaba a run out from the off.
