Dejphon Chansiri seemingly in no rush to appoint new Sheffield Wednesday manager

It is now more than a week since Steve Bruce was appointed Newcastle United manager, leaving Sheffield Wednesday in the process.

Since then, a number of names have been linked to the Hillsborough vacancy, while the Owls have, according to the Star, received more than 100 applications.

But an announcement does not appear to be imminent and, with the Wednesday chairman Dejphon Chansiri, seemingly, more than 5,000 miles away in San Francisco, that is perhaps no surprise.

An update on one of Chansiri’s son’s Instagram stories seems to show the Thai businessman outside the city’s Palace of Fine Arts on Wednesday.

While you would still expect Chansiri’s phone to be within his grasp at all times (and he does indeed appear be holding it in a separate post), it is likely that he would want to conduct face-to-face talks first with any potential hire.

And it could, therefore, be a few more days, or even weeks, until a major development occurs.

At least, for now, Wednesday look to be in good hands with their interim boss, Lee Bullen.

And Chansiri, of course, is entitled to spend time with his family.
