Sheffield Wednesday head to Millwall in the Championship this weekend, and it could be the perfect moment to unleash this 23-year-old.
Sheffield Wednesday journey down to the capital to face Millwall tomorrow afternoon.
It’s a huge match at the foot of the Championship table with the Owls in 23rd and the Lions now in 21st, after Huddersfield Town’s impressive 1-0 win over Sunderland in midweek.
The gap between Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday stands at seven points, and the Owls will be buoyed after a win over Birmingham City last weekend, followed by a decent second half performance vs Leicester City in midweek.
One player who started on the bench for both of those games was Anthony Musaba; the Dutchman has been a regular featured under Danny Rohl but has lost his place in the XI to January arrival Ike Ugbo.
Anthony Musaba ready for a return to the XI
Musaba joined from AS Monaco last summer and has since been described as a ‘fantastic’ player by Rohl.
The 23-year-old has featured 29 times in the Championship this season, scoring four goals and providing two assists, though he hasn’t scored now since the 2-1 defeat at home to Cardiff City in December.
Djeidi Gassama seems to have taken the reins from Musaba in recent weeks. But after a couple of starts on the bench, Musaba should be fit and firing for this one, and against a Millwall side who’ve lost six of their last seven in all competitions, Rohl really needs to go for it.

After January, with Ugbo and Ian Poveda now at his disposal, it seems like Rohl needs to do a bit of tinkering with his attack to figure out which set up and selection is the most dangerous.
Cadamarteri hasn’t scored in the league since December now, but he can perhaps offer more of a target man service than Ugbo, whose pace could be useful coming off the bench this weekend.
Gassama hasn’t been in his best vein of form of late, so Musaba could come into the XI and directly replace him, or Rohl could start the pair of them like he was doing through December and January.
Poveda looks set to start in the no.10 position or on the right. But tomorrow’s game looks like the perfect time to reinstate Musaba into the XI; on his day, he can be one of the trickiest wingers in the league, with an eye for goal and an eye for a pass as well.
It’s still his first season in England and it’s not been an easy ride with Sheffield Wednesday. But Musaba has scored some important goals this season and he could yet bag another tomorrow.
