Sheffield Wednesday lost 4-0 at Southampton on Saturday and Bambo Diaby is now causing Danny Rohl a huge conundrum.
In our view, it could be time for Rohl to consider taking the Spaniard out of the team for a little bit.
Following Saturday’s pretty drab performance, we take a closer look at the performance of Wednesday defender Diaby.
Rohl must consider taking Diaby out of the Wednesday team
The player didn’t play in the last three games that the Owls have played and in his absence, the team won all three games.
It could be coincidental but during his first game back, Rohl saw his team thrashed by one of the in-form teams in the Championship.
For Diaby, it was a performance to forget and Who Scored shows statistics that don’t exactly work in his favour.
The football statistics website rated him 5.16/10 for his performance – the lowest rating of any player on the pitch at St Mary’s Stadium.

He was also credited with a major error leading to a Southampton goal during his 90 minutes on the pitch.
Diaby had a pass success ratio of 77.1% and was among the worst of any Wednesday player during the game – with his position in the team now coming under scrutiny.
Furthermore, it wasn’t just his performance on Saturday that was bad.
Diaby is the club’s lowest-ranked player for the season so far based on any player who has made 10 or more appearances – and he’s proving a liability.
Wednesday head coach has a huge decision to make
Initially, Diaby had some strong performances and even on Saturday, he did win four tackles – the most of any Wednesday player during the afternoon.
However, he’s just proving too much of a liability and it’s quite daming that he was the worst player on the pitch at the weekend.
Wednesday could target a central defender this month and if they do, that would surely leave Diaby at risk.
It’s telling that Wednesday won all three games before the Southampton game – with Diaby not in the team.
With that in mind, Rohl must now come under pressure for his position and the head coach has to consider making a change.
