Sheffield Wednesday go up against Watford in the Championship this weekend.
Sheffield Wednesday start life under Danny Rohl with a trip to Watford this weekend.
The Owls will once again go in search of their first win of the season, after going 11 games of the Championship campaign without picking up a win.
Watford are struggling too. They’re managed by former Barnsley boss Valerien Ismael and currently find themsleves in 20th place of the table, having won just one league game since the opening day of the season.
With Wednesday having been poor this season, and with a new managr in place, we could definitely see some changes this weekend.
Here’s three Wednesday player Rohl should consider dropping ahead of the trip to Watford…
Bambo Diaby
The summer signing was a favourite of Xisco Munoz’s. But in seven Championship outings for the Owls, Diaby failed to impress.
He could certainly prove to be a useful option for Rohl and going forward, there might be games where Rohl views Diaby’s skillset as the better option,
But Wednesday actually have some good options in defence and there should be a few names ahead of Diaby in the pecking order.
Ashley Fletcher
Fletcher was another who Munoz really wanted to see prevail, but who just couldn’t deliver.
The man on loan from Watford was completely left out of the side that drew vs Huddersfield Town last time out, with Bailey Cadamarteri coming up to the bench.
And that could well spell the end for Fletcher at Hillsborough. Rohl has some decent strikers at his disposal and unless Fletcher can really impress in training, he could be left in the cold until January.
Juan Delgado
Another name left out by Neil Thompson vs Huddersfield is Juan Delgado.
Again, it’s a player who Munoz wanted to see do well. But Delgado was brought in at the expense of two other, much better left-backs in Marvin Johnson and Reece James.
Johnson now looks set to come back into the fold under Rohl, whilst James will prove to be another useful player for the German.
