A rumoured Sheffield Wednesday target, currently with Wolverhampton Wanderers, appeared to enjoy the Owls’ EFL Cup first-round victory against Walsall on Saturday.
Wednesday saw off the League Two side on penalties after neither side found a way to break the deadlock in 90 minutes.
The Owls defender Dominic Iorfa, who arrived at Hillsborough from Wolves 18 months ago, posted on Instagram after the game.
And his former teammate, Dion Sanderson, replied: “Cmon 🔥🔥”
Wednesday are ‘keeping close tabs’ on Sanderson, who is in the final year of his contract at Wolves, according to Yorkshire Live.
The 20-year-old can play at centre-back, full-back and wing-back and impressed while on loan to Cardiff City, the Owls’ next opponents, last season.
Cardiff, Rotherham and Huddersfield have also been credited with an interest in Sanderson, who made his one and only Wolves appearance in an EFL Cup defeat against Aston Villa last October.
Wednesday have made five summer signings in total, although their manager Garry Monk insisted via BBC Radio Sheffield on Saturday that no further additions are imminent.
