It’s been a fairly positive week for Sheffield Wednesday who’ve got two new signings over the line in Juan Delgado and Ashley Fletcher.
Fletcher arrived on loan to complete Sheffield Wednesday’s third signing of the summer. Reece James, Delgado, and Fletcher are now in the Owls’ first-team ahead of next season but much more is needed before the transfer window slams shut on September 1st.
And one name who looks potentially set to arrive is Pol Valentin. The 26-year-old right-back has been closely linked with a move to Hillsborough this summer and Xisco Munoz wasn’t afraid to confirm his side’s interest in the Sporting Gijon man.
Munoz said earlier this week:
“We are trying to take him as fast as possible. I don’t know if that is ready or not or whether we have that agreement. We are trying for everyone in our list to arrive faster.”

One player who doesn’t look set to join Wednesday this summer though is Achraf Lazaar. The one-time Sheffield Wednesday loanee has been linked with a potential return to the club but reports have since played that down.

And Burnley goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell won’t be returning to Hillsborough either. Sheffield Wednesday have been linked with the 26-year-old all summer but the Northern Ireland international has since signed for Danish side Aarhus on loan for the 2023/24 season.
Elsewhere, Tom Cannon continues to be linked with a loan move to Sheffield Wednesday. The Everton man impressed on loan at Preston last season and the latest on this front is that the Toffees are ready to loan Cannon out again this summer, with Sheffield Wednesday among the Champisonhip clubs eyeing a deal.
Lastly, Owls defender Dominic Iorfa has been linked with the likes of Preston and Dinamo Zagreb this summer, but Munoz has shut down rumours of a potential exit for the 28-year-old, saying:
“Dominic? No, Dominic is important. No, no, no. 100% Dominic is our player. It is very good for us and right now we are keeping our team.”
