Steven Fletcher has claimed that Sheffield Wednesday’s dressing room is the best he has ever been a part of.

Fletcher took part in Sky Sports’ ‘Ten to Tackle’ feature after Wednesday’s win at Charlton Athletic on Saturday.

And the former Marseille striker, who scored two of the Owls’ three goals, offered plenty of insight into life as a player at Hillsborough.

Asked what makes Wednesday so special, Fletcher replied (via Sky Sports’ EFL Podcast): “I think it’s just the atmosphere around the place.

“It’s the best changing room I’ve ever been in. As a group, there’s no cliques or anything, everyone’s just together. The foreign lads, the (British) lads, it’s been brilliant.

“I think that’s what’s showing the character out there – we show it on the pitch and off the pitch and it’s good.”

Fletcher has now scored eight goals in 18 Championship outings – and a third of the Owls’ overall league haul.

Kadeem Harris (three) is the only other Sheffield Wednesday player to have found the net on more than two occasions in the second tier.

Garry Monk’s side – who ended their five-game winless run at Charlton – are back in action against Brentford at Hillsborough on Saturday.

Ninth-place Wednesday could return to the top six with a win against the Bees.
