Sheffield Wednesday travel to Watford in the Championship this weekend.
Sheffield Wednesday’s first game under new boss Danny Rohl is away at Watford in the Championship tomorrow.
It’s a tough opener for Rohl, but a potentially winnable one with the Hornets having won just two of their opening 11 league games this season.
Still, it’s two more than the Owls who remain winless in the league and rooted to the foot of the table after their poor start under Xisco Munoz.
But many are expecting Rohl to be a huge improvement on his predecessor. And many are backing the German to have an almost instant impact at the club as well.
Many would also say that a point in this one would be a good start, which is what Sky Sports pundit and former Wednesday man David Prutton is predicting.
In his weekly Championship predictions, Prutton has backed Sheffield Wednesday to draw 1-1 at Vicarage Road tomorrow.
Sheffield Wednesday vs Watford – a win in Rohl’s opener?
A win here would be huge for Rohl.
It would breed so much confidence among the players and the fans and it would set the Owls up to go push for survival this season.
And against an out of sorts Watford side, it’s certainly doable. Rohl though has had very little time to work with the players and so we might not see many changes to the style of play straight away.
There’s still a long way to go this season though and so should Rohl taste defeat in his first game, there shouldn’t be any panic whatsoever.
Watford remain a good team and they’ll view this one as a chance to put some points on the board too, so expect a very competitive game on Saturday.
