If ever there was a game that may be described as ‘must-win’ for Sheffield Wednesday, this is it.
A win here would go a long way towards securing the Owls’ survival in the Championship as they’d once again open up a three point gap between them and Birmingham City, with a game in hand as well.
The pressure is certainly on for this one, and while Neil Thompson has done a stellar job at Hillsborough so far, it’s games like this that will the club’s season.
Thompson simply has to get his team selection spot on if the Owls are going to win here, and with that in mind, we’ve had a go at predicting their starting XI for this one.
We think Thompson will only make one change for this game, with Josh Windass coming in for Jordan Rhodes.
Windass came off the bench for Rhodes against Stoke, and we think that Thompson may want to go with that dynamic up front from the start here.
The rest of the team is unchanged, as the Owls stick with the three centre-half system that has served them well in recent weeks, with Osaze Urhoghide starting alongside Chey Dunkley and Tom Lees at the heart of defence.
Interestingly, we think Liam Shaw will start this match, despite the fact there have been reports this week that he’s agreed a deal to leave the club this summer.
Kadeem Harris and Adam Reach start in the wide areas, while Callum Paterson partners Windass up top.
